Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, collector-grade TAG Heuer Spirotechnique Reference 180.023 dive watch from the late 1980s. This is an incredible opportunity to own one of the rarest production tool watches ever released by TAG Heuer, beautifully co-branded with the iconic “La Spirotechnique” ship’s wheel and diver logo.
Because these were sold exclusively through professional scuba diving supply catalogs rather than mainstream jewelry stores, very few survive today—especially in this pristine, unaltered condition.
During the late 1970s and 1980s, Heuer (and later TAG Heuer) did not manufacture their own dive watch cases. Instead, they outsourced production to specialized external Swiss suppliers. M.R.P. S.A. was the undisputed master of this specific tool-watch style, famously creating the architecture known in the collecting community as the “Monnin” style case.
